Ayami Bio :

Born and raised in Shizuoka, Japan,  Ayami moved to New York 4 years ago and has been trained in Waacking and Voguing from the best NYC teachers (Archie, Tyrone Proctor, Aus Ninja etc.).

Ayami has also been trained in ballet and jazz.

She has also choreographed YAMAHA musical school theater performances and performed and choreographed at fashion shows, corporate functions club gigs in Japan and New York.

Currently studying at Broadway Dance Center, Peri Dance Center and Djoniba Dance Center in:
* Waacking (Archie, Tyrone Proctor, Aus Ninja)
* Vogue (Archie, Benny Ninja)
* House (Brian Green, Ejoe Wilson, Marjory)

Koh is the finalist of the Locking battle of Dancekool Vol.24. He is also the organizer of the Funk Battle/Jam that took place at Dancekool on Sunday 18th of april.

Koh has been dancing for many years. He has started teaching and choregraphing in Japan and he is now sharing his knowledge in Australia.

He is teaching at Dancekool a really unique dance style: Soul Waacking. Waacking is a style of dance that came up in the 70’s. It was born in the club environments but through television shows like Soul Train, it became very popular. This dance was developed to imitate stars/actresses/divas in silent films by utilizing complex arm movements, lines & poses. Their movement would be very developed and their musicality would be pushed. Waacking is now starting to resurface and it’s popularity is starting to grow as never before. Since then, waacking has evolved not just in it’s musical & cultural origins but also it started to appear in more and more other dance styles like; Jazz, House, Hip Hop etc.
